Then there’s shading, materials, rendering elements, and (a lot) more.Īt the same time, V-Ray isn’t for everyone. It was taking us 6 to 7 hours to build one property and that just isn’t cost effective. We knew we had to find a better alternative. We had done 3 or 4 houses using the SketchUp method and determined that it wasn’t for us. “We were building 3D models in SketchUp and then putting materials in photoshop after rendering it out. Learn more about Cedreo’s built-in 3D rendering features here. Whereas Layout always ‘feels’ slow, I believe LO is single threaded so multi-core isn’t really applicable but there are other discussions on this forum on this topic that the LauOut team are participating in, which is good news. SU has been fine on the MacBook thoughout, it is always responsive and ‘feels’ fast. It is significantly better, not what I would call sprightly but acceptable. Over Xmas I just had to move from a late 13" 2013 retina MBP (2.8Ghz i7, integrated graphics) to a Hackintosh i7 8700k 3.7Ghz with a 1080Ti card largely to gain an acceptable speed in Layout. LO does need single core grunt and decent graphics to move at at any speed with relatively complex drawings. Hi Mark I found 2018 Layout a smidge faster. ![]()
